Aave (AAVE)

Avalanch (AVAX) - One of the fastest-growing layer one blockchains in 2021 was Avalanch (AVAX). This newer crypto asset has been getting a lot of attention from investors, and companies, who may run their layer two blockchains, upon Avalanche's super-fast network. Like Ethereum, Avalanch is built for Defi, Webb3, and Dapps applications. However, the Avalanch blockchain runs at lightning speeds, and much lower costs, which is attracting big industry in 2022.

 

Bitcoin (BTC) - Bitcoin (BTC) is the original cryptocurrency and still proves itself to be the gold standard for storing value. Introduced back in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin provides peer-to-peer payments across the globe, instantly, for pennies on the dollar. Moreover, the Bitcoin blockchain can not be hacked, or adjusted in any way. The blockchain records transactions on a public ledger, which gets updated by thousands of computers across the network simultaneously.

Decentraland (MANA) - The Metaverse is already being created by companies, and their decentralized blockchains, like Decentraland, (MANA) who is making digital worlds, where users can create and own, parts of Decentraland. MANA is the altcoin for Decentraland and is used to buy, sell, and receive payments, within the digital world. People can customize their avatars with clothing, accessories, automobiles, and even real estate, that can be purchased, and then rented for additional income.

Ethereum (ETH) - Home to the entire DEFI universe, Ethereum, powered by ETH, is the second-largest cryptocurrency to date. Many projects & applications like DEFI, WEB3, and NFT's, are currently running on the Ethereum network. These second layer applications, in part, solve the speed, and expensive gas fees, that plague Ethereum's blockchain. [The Ethereum 2 upgrade is coming soon]

The Sandbox (SAND) - Recently, The Sandbox (SAND) has developed digital worlds where users can build, buy, sell, and own, their digital assets. Much like Decentraland (MANA) operates within the Metaverse, so does The Sandbox (SAND) who got a jump on competing chains, by pioneering decentralized, digital asset creation, and ownership online. The price for MANA dramatically increased in 2021, when Mark Zuckerburg announced he was rebranding Facebook into META. His keynote announcement details the Metaverse, and how altcoins will play an intrinsic role in creating the digital world. 

SHIBA INU (SHIBA) - Modeled after a Japanese breed dog, Shiba Inu became immensely popular in 2021 and produced souring gains for investors. Although there is speculation about its long-term viability, Shiba Inu continues to be a favorite amongst investors.

Solana (SOL) - Currently the 5th largest crypto coin by market cap of $54,647,398,774 as of late December 2021. Solana dubbed the Ethereum killer, is currently the fastest blockchain in existence and is able to process around 50,000 to 60,000 transactions per second. Many second-layer blockchains run on the Solana network, with more planning to join in 2022.
